Art and school in focus

In several workshop units, the children in the third and fourth grades of the Ferdinandeum elementary school explored the medium of photography under the guidance of a media educator.

The students independently found ways to perceive and record themselves and their environment. The freedom to experiment promoted individual self-realization processes.

The works created by the children in an exhibition make it tangible how much joy there is in creative activity and how creativity can become the key to self-confidence, expression, and shared experience.

The photography workshop took place over six sessions, each lasting approximately two hours per group, with approximately 15 participating children. The requested funding covered material costs for the final photo exhibition—particularly prints and picture frames. The fees were covered from other sources.
